Georgi St. Georgiev
1881, 20. 02 – Georgi Stoyanov Georgiev was born in the town of Kazanlak.
1893 – Georgi received his first photo camera – a wooden camera of the “Turist” type with three double dark slides and the best “Zeiss-doppelprotar” lens available at that time, as a gift by his father – Stoyan Georgiev Ekimov (1858-1935), founder of the first Amateur Photography Society in Bulgaria (1897), author of the first photographic handbooks published in 1898 and 1904, and a regular associate of the French magazine La Photographie Française.
1903-1904 – The studies Photography and the Military Arts, Application of Photography in Archaeological Survey, and Judicial Investigation and Photography published.
1911 – The treatise Conquering the Atmospheric Ocean published.
1912 – Georgi Georgiev took part in the siege of Adrianople.
1914 – During World War I Georgi Georgiev served as an observer pilot and conducted many reconnaissance flights during which he took aerial photographs.
1915 – Georgi Georgiev was restationed to airfield Bozhurishte in order to participate in the first airplane school in Bulgaria. There he taught Aviation Theory, History of Aviation, Aeronautical Meteorology, and Aerophotography.
1917 – Georgi Georgiev’s textbook of aerophotography and photogrammetry was published.
1920 – Together with a group of intellectuals with an interest in photography, professional photographers, and artists, Georgi Georgiev founded the Bulgarian Photography Club. He also published his study titled Principles and Structure of Aircraft.
1928 – Georgi Georgiev made the amateur feature film The Daughter of the Rhodopes, acting as its writer, director and director of photography.
1932 – Georgi Georgiev made the amateur feature film Spring in Nature and Spring in Life, which was awarded the bronze medal in Paris in 1933.
1937 – Georgi Georgiev published Photogenic Characteristics of Higher Mountains in Bulgaria and The Way of New Photography.
1940 – Georgi Georgiev published Photography and Mountaineering.
1942 – G. Georgiev published Notes on Theoretical Issues of Contemporary Photography.
1946 – Georgi Georgiev initiated the launch of Cine and Photo (“Kino i foto”) magazine (1946-1951).
1950 – The State College for Cinematography and Photography was founded. Georgi Georgiev was given a teaching position in the college and appointed its principal.
1953 – Georgi Georgiev became chief instructor in artistic photography in Bulgarian Photography State Enterprise. He organised the first national exhibition of artistic photography in
1959, 01. 07 – Georgi Georgiev died in the city of Sofia.
In his lifetime Georgi Georgiev made a number of presentations on the technical and theoretical aspects of photography, published many articles in the press, and had successful participations in international photographic exhibitions in
