Famous sculptor Ivan Russev marks his golden jubilee with a solo exhibition at the Krug Plus Gallery.
Fifty column elements are presented here arranged in various compositions. The basic components in those compositions are light, stone, and the authentic sounds from the artist’s studio.
Each one of Ivan Russev’s shows is an unexpected rediscovery of sculpture’s ever new and provocative embodiments.
It is precisely form in all its values that leads Ivan Russev’s approach both to the stone and to the organization of the space around it. His art masters with equal simplicity and expressiveness the hard stone matter and the ethereal ambiance where it is placed. Drawn from the heart of the stone, the columns are the shape that has gradually become this author’s hallmark.

The sculptor’s 50 stone columns are the pillars and the active element of the light and sound dramatic performance in the dusky halls of the basement. The rough stone construction of the walls and the complex, labyrinth-like structure of the space complete his works as natural sets.
