Reality has inspired me to create the larger part of my paintings. “The Shore”, “Walk”, “The Street” are titles of series I’ve been working on for a long time. To me they are not only meaningful geographical concepts. Like the poet who discovers an inner, secondary, hidden meaning of the word, these notions have their own inner logic and meaningfulness.

The multilayered reality, the different levels of perception of everyday life, the banal, the known and its being charged with a different, special meaning are the occasion for the creation of these realistic compositions.

A building, a tree, a human figure have their own hidden, inner store, their own logic, and life. The outer plastic reality that has made an impression on me is an urge in my paintings to strive for a dramaturgical continuity, a hidden plot, if you wish – a subject-matter. By all this I aim at achieving contact with the hidden, ambivalent, subconscious sides of things and objects surrounding us.

The outer attractiveness of naked bodies, flowers, and architectural landscapes agive me an occasion to express these views of mine about painting that I try to achieve by means of a classical drawing, form, and space.
