The idea of this competition was conceived between the heads of Krassimir Iliev, Marussya Kalimerova, and Assadur Markarov. Angel Stanev’s appearance put an end to its roaming about. The idea that Prof. Marin Varbanov’s personality could generate creativity among students from all departments at the National Art Academy was supported by the Art Council of the Circle + Gallery (the Sise at the time) and propagated by several lecturers brought 21 students who participated with 26 works. A jury of the following members: Angel Stanev, Assadur Markarov, Krassimir Iliev, Marussya Kalimerova, Svetlin Russev, and Stanislav Pamukchiev awarded Galina Galabova with a BGN 1 000 grant provided by the Varbanov family.
